Si dice sempre che l’anno nuovo porti delle novità… ecco la prima che mi fa piacere segnalare e condividere.
Lo scorso 09 gennaio, data di entrata in effetto dell’ormai ben noto Decreto Ministeriale 10 agosto 2018 [1], è stato emanato un nuovo D.M. con cui si aggiorna e sostituisce l’Allegato 1 di agosto.
Il D.M. 09 gennaio 2019 ed il relativo nuovo Allegato 1 sono entrambi scaricabili dal portale del Ministero della Salute:
Quali le novità rispetto al precedente documento?
Sicuramente salta subito all’occhio l’aggiunta nelle tabelle dell’Allegato 1 della colonna riportante le “Linee guida Ministeriali di riferimento per gli effetti fisiologici”.
Il D.M. cita anche integrazioni e modifiche alla lista di piante ammesse e relative parti, e alle disposizioni limitative di utilizzo.
Ora la mia (e credo condivisa) speranza è che l’Allegato 1 venga revisionato ed aggiornato di continuo in modo da integrare con la massima prontezza tutte le novità del settore.
Vista la mole dell’allegato (137 pagine) sarebbe anche auspicabile che venisse predisposta una sezione di track of change utile a monitorare efficacemente ogni futura variazione; il tempo e le energie è sempre meglio dedicarle ai nostri consumatori, così da poter fornire prodotti sempre più sicuri e della più alta qualità….penso che il Ministero non potrebbe che essere più che d’accordo.

Updated italian list of botanicals authorized in food supplements
It is commonly said that new year brings novelties: here the first one that I am glad to recommend and share, specifically with whom working with food supplements in the italian market.
On January 09, effective date for the well known Italian Ministerial Decree 10 August 2018 [1] that regulates the usage of botanicals in Italy, a new Decree has been issued with the aim to update and replace the Attachment 1 edited in August.
The Decree 09 January 2019 and its Attachment 1 are both available for download at the Italian Ministry of Health website:
Which are the updates from August?
It is immediately evident in the Attachment’s tables the new column reporting the ministerial guidelines for the physiological effects. The Decree also mentions additions and changes to the list of permitted plants and relative parts, and to the limitation provisions for use.
My (and I think shared) hope is that such Attachment 1 is reviewed and updated constantly in order to promptly include all novelties.
Considering the Attachment size (137 pages) it would also be desirable a track of changes section, surely helpful to efficiently monitor for any future modification; it is always better to dedicate our time and energies to provide our consumers with products at the highest level of safety and quality. I’m pretty sure the Italian Ministry cannot disagree.
